Time flies. Still remember the first few months and years when we were trying to get Mochi & Jolie started from ground zero, and hustling between all the trade shows, factories, warehouses and stores. And now look at us! We have reached 10 years milestone. It has been such an incredible journey and we treasure every single moment of it! Through lots of ups and downs, we have grown and matured, not just as a company, but also as a community. We want to say "THANK YOU" to every single one of you for continuing loving and supporting us along the way. Without you, we won't be here today. So, THANK YOU, from the bottom of our hearts.
We hope you will all join us for this special 10th Anniversary Celebration and cheers for another successful 10 years ahead!!
What We Love,MoJo Events
Give Thanks and Give Back
Behind the Curtain, What We LoveCommentThanksgiving Day began as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. We gather on this day to be thankful for what we have, for the family we love, the friends we cherish, and for the blessings that will come. This year, not only we gave thanks, we wanted to give back too. We volunteered with "One Incredible Family" to prepare Thanksgiving meals for the unfortunate homeless. They've been serving Thanksgiving meals to the LA homeless for 25 years and this year, we were a part of their volunteer teams.
Most Popular Dog Breeds for 2017
What We LoveCommentThe American Kennel Club, that venerable institution of purebreds and dog shows, just announced its membership survey of most popular breeds. Did your handsome little guy or sweet little girl at home make the list? Read on.
1. Labrador Retriever
They’re gentle with the family but tough on crime (they’re especially talented sniffer-outers). That—plus sleek coats in yellow, chocolate and black—explain why this is the AKC’s top dog for 27 years in a row.
2. German Shepherd
Forget any connotations with the Five-O, this breed is all love. Maybe just give your mailman treats in advance to butter up your new puppy.
3. Golden Retriever
Preppy as hell, this breed’s ancestors hail back to the gamekeepers on the estate of the Scottish Lord Tweedmouth. No wonder these dogs like to act silly, they must be remembering that name.
4. French Bulldog
Pretty much the dog for the Instagram age: small and cute, with ridiculous bat ears and a jaunty little trot. (Fun fact: The stout breed, ranked no. 1 in popularity in both New York City and Los Angeles)
5. Bulldog
With a short smushed nose and the bandy front legs of a canine Popeye, these are so funny-looking that they are beautiful. So what if their snoring keeps you up at night? Every night…
6. Beagle
America’s love affair with medium-sized dogs eases a bit now that the beagle has made the list. He’s a hare-hound at heart, so be sure to hold the leash tightly when you’re approaching the yard of that damn cat.
7. Poodle
The AKC wants to dispel “the old stereotype of poodles as a foofy velvet-pillow dogs looking down their long noses at us.” Fine.
8. Rottweiler
A solid working dog, these have a fancy history accompanying soldiers in ancient Rome. Today he still looks that imposing, but he’s great with kids and has been slowly climbing the ranks in the last decade.
9. Yorkshire Terrier
At around seven pounds, with a mass of flowing hair begging to be brushed into a top knot, the Yorkie is the American Doll of pets.
10. Pointers (German Shorthaired)
These super-smart creatures are independent and love playing with children.

Happy Year of the Dog!
What We LoveCommentHappy Lunar New Year, everyone! February 16th is the first day of the lunar new year, and this year is the Year of the Dog!
The Dog is the eleventh of all zodiac animals. According to one myth, the Jade Emperor said the order would be decided by the order in which they arrived to his party. Monkey, Rooster and Dog were in another country, helping a god defeat evil spirits. After, they set off to the party together. Because they arrived at the same time, the Jade Emperor went by the order they met the god in the other country. Thus, Dog became eleventh.
Recent years of the Dog are: 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018.
Dog is the symbol of loyalty and honesty. People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They are honest, friendly, faithful, loyal, smart, straightforward, venerable and have a strong sense of responsibility.
Men born in the Dog year are straightforward and genuine. They are energetic, though they’re more pessimistic inside. Very opinionated, they’re always ready to correct others and defend their stance. It’s not that they want to show off. They just feel it’s necessary to help others realize their mistakes. These men care deeply for their family. Their stubbornness fades in the face of their loved ones. They work to understand and compromise, resulting in a harmonious family life.
Women born in the Dog year are very cautious. They are indifferent towards people they don’t like, and don’t trust easily. But once they do, it’s permanent. They are intensely protective of their friends and family. They are genial and independent. They love outdoor activities and being in nature. However, they are also hard workers and don’t give up until they succeed. Security and a stable income are her requirements for a career.

Fly With Your Fur Kids? Which Airlines Are the Most Pet-friendly?
Take Note, What We LoveCommentWe travel with our fur kids, a lot. Boss Mochi and Jolie have been flying high since they were little. Nowadays, it is much easier to fly with our four legged companions than ever before. These days, certain airlines don't just allow pets on planes, they encourage them.
Whether your toy breed is a frequent flyer or your big one needs to make a one-time trip across country, seek out a pet-friendly airline when you're pricing your travel options.
Note, though, that you'll need to stay abreast of each airline's rules and offerings all the way up until the time you leave. Many airlines offer options for pets to fly, but may restrict any number of pets, including short-nosed dog breeds or those traveling with flyers under age 18. Other airlines restrict times you can travel with a pet. American Airlines, for example, won't allow pets to fly on the airline when the forecasted temperature is above 85F at any location on the itinerary, while Alaska Airlines restricts pet travel on certain holidays.
Start your search for the pet-friendly airline that suits your itinerary with these five options:
Jet Blue JetPaws Program
The basics: A leader in the pet travel industry, Jet Blue charges a pet fee of $100 each way and allows one pet in a carrier per passenger. The pet is considered carry-on luggage and can not exceed 20 pounds along with the carrier.
Special extras: Jet Blue's JetPaws program includes a special bag tag for you carrier and your pet can earn 300 extra TrueBlue points on each flight segment you take together. Unlike most airlines that allow pets, Jet Blue allows you to book pets online. Or, you can call 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583).
United Airlines
The basics: United allows certain sized domesticated cats, dogs, rabbits and household birds (excluding cockatoos) to travel accompanied in the aircraft cabin on most flights within the U.S. for $125 each way.
Special extras: United allows the pet and a carry-on bag, which is unusual. For pets restricted from cabin travel, United offers PetSafe®, which includes plane compartments pressurized the same way as the cabin, airport-to-airport delivery for animals and features a 24-hour live animal desk and gives owners the ability to track pets. And points! You can earn 500 MileagePlus award miles for each PetSafe shipment within the U.S. and 1,000 miles for all other shipments.
WestJet
The basics: Certain pets can travel in the cabin, counting towards your carry-on baggage allowance, or as checked baggage.
Special extras: WestJet has one of the least expensive fees for pet plane travel, charging kennel fees from $50-$60 each way if pets are carried on, and $75-$90 if they become part of "checked baggage."
The allowances for pets traveling as checked baggage are also more generous than most other airlines. Pets that can fly as checked baggage include birds, cats, chinchillas, dogs, guinea pigs, hedgehogs and rabbits, and the airline allows 100 pounds for the pet and kennel combined. In addition, one passenger can check up to six pets, so WestJet is ideal for the multi-pet traveler.
Virgin Atlantic
The basics: Virgin Atlantic accepts only cats and dogs on flights, and restricts short-nosed breeds like Pekinese. The cost of taking your dog or cat on one of our flights depends on a combination of the size of its travel box, and they request a call to their shipping department to discuss the pets before you book tickets.
Special extra: The Flying Paws "scheme" means pets earn Flying Club miles. Pets flying to Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, Detroit and other North American locations earn 1,000 bonus miles for owners who are Flying Club members.
Alaska Airlines Fur-st Class Care
The basics:For $100 each way, dogs, cats, rabbits and household birds are accepted in the aircraft cabin (counting as the carry-on bag allotment), and in the baggage and cargo compartments. Short-nosed dogs are prohibited and all pets traveling cargo have to have a health certificate dated within 10 days of the outbound departure date.
Special extras: Alaska Airlines is a great choice for unusual animals as it allows cats, dogs, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, household birds, non-poisonous reptiles, pot-bellied pigs, rabbits and tropical fish to travel in its climate-controlled baggage and cargo compartments. The airline also offers Pet Connect™ animal travel for pets traveling without their owners. Pet Connect customers can get a free pet health examination and discounted health certificate at Banfield® Pet Hospitals located in PetSmart retail stores.

Pet Lovers Week (9.16 - 9.22)
MoJo EventsCommentBy now if you still do not know yet, Mochi & Jolie® is named after two small fluffy white dogs. And we call them Boss Mochi and Boss Jolie. Hello, Frankfurt!
Cornerstone, MoJo Events, Behind the CurtainCommentThis early year, we stepped out our comfort zone, wrapped up our jewels and watches and headed to Frankfurt, Germany. We finally had our very first international trade show - Ambiente 2015, the biggest show in Europe. It was a long 5 days show in a giant venture - Messe Frankfurt and we met so many new and friendly European business people and friends there. It was a great experience for us, not only we have learned so much about the differences of how people doing business in Europe, but also collected first hand valuable information for our brand to grow in that continent.
Frankfurt is a beautiful city, mixed with tradition and modern life style. Germans are friendly and warm, and taxis are always so spotlessly clean, not to mention, most of them are Mercedes-Benz. Needless to say, Frankfurt left us a beautiful impression. Will be back and see you again soon, Frankfurt! :)

26 Days of Mochi & Jolie - Day 26
MoJo Events, Product Product, What We LoveCommentThe insanely cute Westie is one of the most popular small terriers among pet owners. Standing 10 to 11 inches at the shoulder, with dark piercing eyes, compact body, and an adorable carrot-shaped tail wagging with delight, the Westie’s looks are irresistible. Beneath the plush-toy exterior, though, beats the heart of true working terrier. Bred to hunt rats and other furry critters, Westies are surprisingly strong and tough. The all-white coat should be hard to the touch, never soft and fluffy.
26 Days of Mochi & Jolie - Day 25
MoJo Events, Product Product, What We LoveCommentElegant. Proud. Clever. Poodles are impressive dogs. Behind the blue ribbons, impressive hairdos, and regal attitude, you will find an affectionate family dog with an ancient history and many talents. No matter the size, Poodles are renowned for a playful but dignified personality and keen intelligence.
26 Days of Mochi & Jolie - Day 24
MoJo Events, Product Product, What We LoveCommentIts name (pronounced BEE-shon Free-ZAY) is French for “fluffy white dog,” which is a very accurate way to describe these 10- to 20-pound four-legged cotton balls. Bred to be hypoallergenic, their white, curly coats rarely shed. This breed is easily trained and carries a charismatic, cheerful, and curious disposition. And their history of being pampered by French royalty makes them tolerant of being adorned in bows and bling, should you feel the urge.
26 Days of Mochi & Jolie - Day 23
MoJo Events, Product Product, What We LoveCommentThese energetic, athletic, fearless, intelligent, stubborn and vocal Jack Russell Terriers have appeared many times in film, television and print with several historical dogs of note. Among them, Uggie is an animal actor, appearing in commercials starting in 2005 and most notably cast in Water for Elephants and The Artist, both in 2011. In the same year, based on interest following The Artist, the "Consider Uggie" campaign was launched, which attempted to gain the dog a nomination for an Academy Award. In 2012 Uggie was named Nintendo's first-ever spokesdog.
26 Days of Mochi & Jolie - Day 22
MoJo Events, Product Product, What We LoveComment"Dog people" and "Cat people" really do have different personalities, according to a new study. People who said they were dog lovers in the study tended to be more lively -- meaning they were more energetic and outgoing -- and also tended to follow rules closely. Cat lovers, on the other hand, were more introverted, more open-minded and more sensitive than dog lovers. Cat people also tended to be non-conformists, preferring to be expedient rather than follow the rules.
26 Days of Mochi & Jolie - Day 21
MoJo Events, Product Product, What We LoveCommentThe name "Schnauzer" comes from the German word for "snout", because of the dog's distinctively bearded snout. They also have those long, feathery eyebrows. Friendly and loving, schnauzers become part of their families. They are protective and energetic, and will alert members of the household to any potential danger.
