Behind the Curtain

Give Thanks and Give Back

Behind the Curtain, What We LovemochiandjolieComment

Thanksgiving Day began as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. We gather on this day to be thankful for what we have, for the family we love, the friends we cherish, and for the blessings that will come. This year, not only we gave thanks, we wanted to give back too. We volunteered with "One Incredible Family" to prepare Thanksgiving meals for the unfortunate homeless. They've been serving Thanksgiving meals to the LA homeless for 25 years and this year, we were a part of their volunteer teams.

Hello, Frankfurt!

Cornerstone, MoJo Events, Behind the CurtainmochiandjolieComment

This early year, we stepped out our comfort zone, wrapped up our jewels and watches and headed to Frankfurt, Germany. We finally had our very first international trade show - Ambiente 2015, the biggest show in Europe. It was a long 5 days show in a giant venture - Messe Frankfurt and we met so many new and friendly European business people and friends there. It was a great experience for us, not only we have learned so much about the differences of how people doing business in Europe, but also collected first hand valuable information for our brand to grow in that continent.
Frankfurt is a beautiful city, mixed with tradition and modern life style. Germans are friendly and warm, and taxis are always so spotlessly clean, not to mention, most of them are Mercedes-Benz. Needless to say, Frankfurt left us a beautiful impression. Will be back and see you again soon, Frankfurt! :)

So we headed to New York...

MoJo Events, Behind the CurtainmochiandjolieComment

We packed all of our jewels and watches and headed to New York two weeks ago . Things didn't started smoothly for us first - we missed our fight for the first time ever! And there was no more non-stop flight to New York left on that day and the only option was to get on a flight to Minneapolis–Saint Paul first, and then connected to another flight to New York. Hardly slept for ten minutes the whole night, we landed in JFK as one piece and headed to the show venue immediately... The rest was history.

We met lots of nice people and made friends with our fabulous and talented neighbors. It was super fun, exciting and utterly exhausting - the common symptoms of a professional show goer.

The weather was beautiful in New York. Not too hot and humid in the month of August, we considered ourselves very lucky. The food was always delicious there, and we even tried out the famous "croissant donut". It was yummy!

We always adore New York, and will go back there again soon! :)

Let's talk about those paws

If you have ever had a fur kid in your life, you have must seen, touched, or even kissed his/her paws. Paw print has become such a familiar symbol for many animal lovers. And of course we love it too and decided to take on this classic symbol and make it our own. Many sketches and samples later, we finally had something close to our hearts...

Highlights from SuperZoo show 2013, Las Vegas

Behind the Curtain, MoJo EventsmochiandjolieComment

We are already back from the SuperZoo show in Las Vegas late last month. As usual, we had a great time despite the triple digit hot temperature while we were there. Mochi and Jolie met lots of people and some new fur friends too. :)

Mochi waited patiently while we were setting the show booth up.

Our corner booth is ready for the visitors!

The new Jewelry Collection presentation looks great!

Love the Watch Collection and Toys display too!

Our own "candy corner" - who can resist those beautiful bows!

Working at the show must be very tiring, look, Jolie was already out on the first day!

The two bosses were having lots of meetings and getting deals done!

Back to the hotel after a long, hard day work at the show, Mochi tucked herself in comfortably.

Last day at the show, even Mochi was tired.

Well, you know where to find Jolie... :)

Finally, the show was over and we were on our way back. The bosses insisted on sharing the front seats. Good bye, Vegas! We shall see you again soon! :)

Work Smart! - Time to stock some new office supplies!

Time to stock some new office supplies! And we haven't done so since the beginning of the year. Not only we want them to be practical, but also stylish too! So this Saturday, we took the "bosses" on a little trip to the Container Store since they are having a "Work Smart Office Sale" right now.

"Look, look! This way, this way! I want that! I want that!" The little boss/office supervisor, Mochi was all excited and ready to give us directions and do some serious shopping, and while Jolie was just cruising along as usual, "No treats, no toys?? This is not a store for me, that is for sure!" :)

We stopped by The Modern Dog (Venice, CA) today and can't help noticing how beautifully they are displaying our new

The Modern Dog is such a cute and sweet boutique that we adore so much. Check it out if you are in the area!

"So, can you please make one for my little pup, JC?"

Everything started from this line.

LB_Mochi_web_watermark.jpg

One afternoon, one of our designers' best friend, Calvin came to visit our studio and showed us his pup - JC's photos. We all fell in love with JC, a very cute west highland white terrier. Calvin loved our new collection and asked, "Can you make one special UCLA Bruin outfit for JC?" "Huh?" "It'd be so cool if JC can wear a Bruin outfit when we are watching all the Bruin games!"

Being a loyal Bruin fan himself, no wonder he came up that idea. "That sounds fun! OK, we will see what we can do!"

Our designers took on this personal project and turned it into such a fun piece. Mochi and Jolie can't wait to put them on first! "UCLA! fight! fight! fight!" We were all smiling and laughing... so cute and so fun!
